One Month.

Hello dear friends and family! Welcome to a little thing called a blog written by yours truly (Jon + Val). We want this blog to help in keeping you all updated on our little life we're starting together as man and wife. We also want a place to share true, surreal, and mostly funny stories about how it's going. So, sit back, relax, read, and enjoy.

One month ago today, Jon and I said, "I do." A lot has happened since then.
  • We said, "I do." {small tiny detail we didn't want you to miss}
  • We spent the night at the Westin in downtown Greenville.
  • Went to Jamaica. {Jamaica Me Crazy! And yes, they really do say "yah mon" and "no problem, no worries"}
  • We spent 4 extra hours in the Charlotte airport for a tiny connector 30 minute flight. {2 hours going and 2 hours coming back. Yes, both times, the plane was delayed}
  • We came home to a townhouse filled with gifts. {and I mean... filled with gifts}
  • We went back to work. {Worst reality check ever}
  • Dakota was gradually introduced to crate living and is now a permanent resident of our little home.
  • We began learning what it's like to budget money.
  • We made a grocery list. {or two, or three}
  • We bought our first set of pots and pans.
The list could go on. In the midst of it all, both of us just feel like all we've been doing is "making house." This is quite the task as some of you may know. We have successfully unpacked and put away all of our gifts. The kitchen feels complete. The office has been the chore and is still a work in progress.

For our "onemonthiversary," Jon brought me a very pretty pink rose. It was so much fun to pull a vase out from under our kitchen sink and place it on the kitchen table. I hope I get to do that many more times over our life together. I made him a little book of coupons to redeem for fun things like "a day in Asheville" or "a week off from ironing." We went to dinner at Copper River and have spent the rest of the evening going through wedding pictures and creating this fun little blog.

Since a month has already passed, I've robbed you of a few fun stories and events that have taken place, so I hope to go back in time to capture these moments for you in writing. For now, it's goodnight as work awaits both of us early in the morning. I have noticed that waking up is really hard when the person laying next to you doesn't want to get up either.

Grace & Peace,

Val (& Jon)
