Pittypat's Porch and a Baby Shower

The weekend of 8/4, mom asked if I would like to attend a baby shower with her in Georgia {it was for a friend's daughter-in-law}. Carol is a friend of mom's from high school and her mother Mavis is a good friend of Nana's. Mavis had visited TR in 2008 with Nana. We went blueberry picking and enjoyed their company. I wanted to see Mavis again and meet Carol, so I agreed to tag along. :)

The original plan was to go just for a day trip on the day of the shower {a Sunday}. Dad was in Atlanta for work and Jon was going to ride down to hang out with dad while mom and I attended the shower. We decided to head down Saturday late afternoon and stay the night so that we could spend a little more time with dad and steal him away from work a little longer.

What a fun and spontaneous trip! We stayed in downtown Atlanta Saturday night. We stumbled upon Pittypat's Porch for dinner, about 2 blocks from our hotel. It was absolutely delicious! The restaurant was Gone with the Wind themed and served wonderful home-cooked meals.

Oh, don't mind him...
jon may have a new girl

Highlight of the trip may have been that dad locked his keys in the car. His rental car was a keyless entry. Whenever you walk away from the car with the keys in your pocket, the doors automatically lock. Dad left the keys on the console to step outside to pay the marking meter, thinking that the doors wouldn't lock. He got out, shut the door, and "click"... seriously?? Who's bright invention was that? Those of you familiar with any Miller knows that this is very classic Miller... but hey, we love that about us. So dad really had 2 things working against him. ;)

And the baby shower begins! I just have to share some of the cute little things they did! Mom and I just kept saying "aw! look at this!" "aw look at that!" Everything was cowgirl themed and very, very pink!
