May 2012!

May was a whole lot busier than April. Every weekend we had something going on! The busyness was a little crazy and hard to handle at times, but what made it so much better was that all of the flowers were starting to bloom! Not too mention, we were able to spend time with really special people.

Recap:
  • I made Mother's Day cards and birthday cards. (I have been bad about cards in the recent year and Jon and I are striving to do better about writing).
  • Jon did a lot of cuddling and sleeping with Dakota.
  • My parents provided us with priceless art work for our walls. We stumbled upon two windows/doors in their basement one day. They gladly gave them to us. The story is that the windows were inside one of the walls my parents tore down in the Indiana house (the house I grew up in). Jon took some time and cleaned them up and now one hangs in our living room and one hangs in our kitchen. The green is the original color. We painted the other white and use it in the kitchen as a dry erase board.
  • My mom surprised us by leaving two solid oak pallets on our door step one day. Needless to say, a pallet shelf shortly followed.
  • We took a day trip to Lexington to celebrate Jim's (Jon's dad) birthday. We made a surprise and pulled the car into their garage with a little birthday banner. Priceless face when he went to pull his car in the garage and he couldn't.
  • Pool time at mom and dad's place.
  • Flirting with the husband. Yes. We were both at home and texting each other from different rooms. I think newlyweds are entitled to those kinds of things.
  • We went swimming with friends (part of May's game night). See post here: Dupont
  • Alyssa came to visit! This obviously meant dinner at Moe's with her and Kyndal. Yes! See Alyssa's sweet blog about her mother's journey with breast cancer: hope & healing.
  • I hosted a dear friend's bachelorette weekend here at the house. This will be a separate blog.
And that's May 2012. Enjoy the pictures!
